CARE & MATERIALS

"Our luxury fibers are curated historic specimens. Washing and caring for them represents a gorgeous ritual of preserving heritage."

The Material Soul of MENASA

Preservation & Washing Rituals

water_drop 01 • Cold Handwash Only

Delicate cashmere and premium silks should never meet machine washers. Melt organic neutral shampoo in cold water, submerge gracefully for 10 minutes, and rinse without wringing.

dry_cleaning 02 • Dry Flat on Linen

Weighty natural fibers stretch out of form under gravity if hung wet. Always dry horizontally on natural white linen towels in well-ventilated rooms, away from harsh heaters.

shelves 03 • Muslin Wraps & Cedar

Store fully dry folded garments inside organic muslin cases. Place natural scent cedar sheets adjacent to them. Wood absorbs humidity perfectly and wards away moth deterioration.

iron 04 • Safe Distance Steaming

Direct iron plates permanently burn or glisten cashmere scale weaves. Remove wrinkles entirely with gentle upright steamers from a safe distance of 10-12 inches.

ATELIER CLEANING

Professional Archivers

If you do not intend to hand-wash cashmere and silk fibers at home, we advise placing them inside their dust cases and delivering them to premium dry cleaners familiar with delicate scales.
